Promic, supplier of display products and presentation materials, presents itself as ‘not just another box cutter’. StackAssist was the ideal software tool to prove it. In an industry where shipping costs are relatively high, effective and reliable shipping is a prominent USP that, thanks to StackAssist, can make the difference between an order or no order.
Aanleiding
‘For Promic from Weert in the province of Limburg, the choice to work with StackAssist was twofold. On the one hand, StackAssist proves to be an efficient way of keeping transport costs low, and on the other hand the software tool ensures that predictability and reliability increase. Promotional materials such as displays and roll banners are not expensive products. Therefore, it is vital that transport costs are in proportion in order to remain competitive.’
Approach
‘A link has been made with Microsoft Dynamics’ Navision, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programme with which e-commerce transactions can be handled automatically. StackAssist gives Promic much more predictability about what the transport costs will eventually be. As a result, their sales department can share these costs directly with a customer and there are no unexpected extra costs. The system immediately calculates pallet numbers and space. Previously, this was done manually and it was not uncommon for an extra pallet, including the associated costs, to be used.’
Results
‘StackAssist has significantly increased reliability while reducing transport costs. Promic experiences added value in the speed and predictability that StackAssist offers. In an industry where margins are small, this form of cost reduction is a handy way to stay ahead of the competition.’
