This is Philips Healthcare
Philips Healthcare is a leading manufacturer of innovative medical devices. In order to train (new) employees of Philips and hospital specialists worldwide, complete training centres have been established in Best (head office in the Netherlands), Singapore and the United States (Cleveland). Every year, 10,000 people are trained here. A large part is trained in the training centres, but also in the local hospitals. In total, 78 trainers work at Philips Healthcare.
What was used
Packaging problem
Philips Healthcare has developed a new system for cardiology. To make the best use of this innovative new system, training is required. In order to be able to provide training in the field or in the training centres in Singapore or the United States, the systems were flown in with the employee(s) in the past. In addition, an instructor always flew along to install the systems.
As this could also be made more efficient, Philips needed a kind of ‘Plug ‘n Play’ solution. This would save the costs of hiring an instructor and make it possible to carry out training all over the world.
Packaging solution
Faes has designed the Plug ‘n Play solution. The package containing the training provides four workstations. Each workstation consists of two screens. The eight screens stand on a stand and the outer side can be folded out to create extra space for a workstation. All this in a construction that is as compact as possible.
The upper part of the flight case consists of two parts, one person can easily remove these parts. The lower part holds four computers. Of course, the air supply and exhaust have been thought through as well. The packaging is fitted with TSA locks. This secures the contents, and at the same time, customs can check the packaging without anything getting broken or damaged. In short, a new system for Philips that saves a lot of time and money and only benefits the quality of the training.
