This is St. Elisabeth hospital Tilburg
The St. Elisabeth Hospital (ETZ) Tilburg is a large, top clinical teaching hospital with a wide range of medical-specialist care. In total, 28 specialisms are present in the hospital. The St. Elisabeth Hospital is the first non-academic hospital in the south of the Netherlands with a Level 3 Intensive Care. This is the highest quality level for Intensive Care. The hospital has 34 IC beds. Because the St. Elisabeth Hospital is also a trauma centre for the region, patients from other hospitals are regularly referred to the IC of this hospital.
What was used
Verpakkingsprobleem | Informatiekoffertje voor kinderen
The staff, both medical and pedagogical, were looking for a suitcase to inform, reassure and help the children of the patients. They noticed that it often happens that a child is kept away from its mother/father/grandmother in ICU because it can be rather ‘scary’ to see someone lying there like that, even though it may be the last time they can see them.
Packaging solution | Case with print and interior
Faes has donated a personalised FWA-J case with interior and print for the IC department. The case contains tubes, syringes and colouring pictures so the staff of the Intensive Care can playfully prepare the children for the fact that for example daddy has a tube in his nose and is connected to a lot of equipment. In this way, the children can still see their father without it being too scary or giving them nightmares.
